ATTORNEY
DEBORAH ANNE GARTZKE

BIO

I grew up in Virginia and spent most of my life living and working in the Roanoke Valley, the New River Valley, and finally the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  My childhood dream was to be a veterinarian, but in retrospect, I thought like a lawyer even back then.  Although I developed an interest in law during college, I spent the ten years following graduation working in education and then social services, including five years as a fraud investigator.  I earned a Masters degree in counseling during that time.  Finally the time was right and I left my job to attend Washington & Lee University School of Law.  Following graduation from law school, I held positions as Law Clerk to The Honorable Glen E. Conrad, Magistrate Judge, United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia, and as Pro Se Law Clerk for the Clerk’s Office of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.  After practicing with the law firm of Black, Noland & Read in Staunton, Virginia, for three years, I opened my general practice in 1997 so that I could serve my clients with my own approach. From 1997 until 2014, my office assisted clients with divorce, child custody, child and spousal support , adoption, wills, probate, and a variety of other matters. In 2014, I moved to Collier County, Florida for the beautiful weather and opened my law office in Naples in September of that year.  In my spare time, I enjoy ornamental gardening, growing my own food, cooking, creative writing, and spending time in nature.
